Laid down in 1912 and commissioned in 1915 as Japan's first true dreadnought battleship, the IJN Fusō spent the first years of World War II largely in a training role before her final mission as part of Vice Admiral Nishimura's Southern Force at the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944.

Sailing into the Surigao Strait in the early hours of October 25, she was struck by torpedoes, caught fire as her poorly refined fuel ignited on the water's surface, and sank between 03:38 and 03:50 with the loss of an estimated 1,620 men. Only ten of her crew survived to return to Japan. Her wreck was discovered in 2017 lying upside down at 185 metres depth.

This free 111-part mini-scale LEGO MOC recreates her at the same scale as the BOBBY BRIX 2018 warship collection.
