The Bobby Brix LEGO Most SNP Bridge MOC Kit - A Unique Building Kit

In This Article

A bridge that balances on a single pylon and a building shaped like an upside-down pyramid? Two of Bratislava's most architecturally extraordinary landmarks and two of the boldest things ever built in Central Europe! Both structures recreated together in a single LEGO MOC kit designed by BOBBY BRIX.

The Most SNP: Bratislava's Most Daring Bridge

The Most SNP (known as the Bridge of the Slovak National Uprising) is one of the most architecturally remarkable bridges in the world. Completed in 1972, it was built to commemorate the Slovak National Uprising of 1944, the largest armed resistance movement against Nazi occupation in Central Europe. Its construction didn't come without controversy, as its construction required the demolition of a significant portion of Bratislava's historic Jewish quarter and the medieval city walls along the Danube.

What makes the bridge structurally extraordinary is its design. The Most SNP is an asymmetric cable-stayed bridge standing on a single inclined pylon that rises from the south bank of the Danube, with the entire span of the bridge suspended from it by cables fanning out in a single direction. There is no tower on the north bank and no counterweight on the city side. The whole structure appears to be held in tension by a single point of contact with the earth, and from a distance it looks as though it simply should not be possible.

At 303 metres in length, the Most SNP holds the world record for the longest cable-stayed bridge with a single asymmetric pylon, a record it has held since the day it was completed. Atop the pylon, at a height of 95 metres above the Danube, sits the UFO-shaped observation deck and restaurant that has given the bridge its popular alternative name: the UFO Bridge. The observation deck offers a 360-degree panoramic view across Bratislava, Austria, and Hungary simultaneously, and has become one of the city's most visited attractions.

The Slovak Radio Building: The Inverted Pyramid

Just a few kilometres away from the bridge, tucked behind the Old Town and facing Mýtna Street, stands one of the strangest and most compelling buildings in Central Europe. The Slovak Radio Building (known locally as the Slovenský Rozhlas) was completed in 1983 after a design process that began in 1967. Architect Štefan Svetko's winning competition entry was radical: an inverted truncated pyramid, clad in aluminium panels, suspended above a glass ground floor.

At 80 metres tall and 40 metres wide at its widest point, the building is simultaneously one of the most distinctive pieces of Brutalist architecture in Slovakia and one of the country's most recognisable silhouettes. It houses the headquarters and primary studios of Radio Slovakia and contains a concert hall beneath the main structure. Whatever you make of its aesthetic, the Rozhlas building is impossible to ignore and to forget.

Together, the Most SNP and the Rozhlas building define a particular kind of Bratislava: bold, experimental, willing to do things no one else was doing, shaped by the tensions of an era when architecture was one of the few places ambition was permitted to express itself freely.

The Bobby Brix LEGO Most SNP & Rozhlas MOC Kit

The Bobby Brix LEGO Most SNP & Rozhlas building kit recreates both landmarks in micro-scale using 183 genuine, brand new LEGO bricks hand-packed and sorted, with spare parts included. It is an exclusive Bobby Brix design, designed back during Project Bratislava in 2025 and still exclusively available on this store. It is also the best priced LEGO MOC kit available anywhere that captures the Most SNP in brick form.

The Most SNP is one of the most challenging structures to recreate in LEGO at any scale. The asymmetric pylon geometry, the single-sided cable arrangement, and the distinctive UFO profile of the observation deck are all features that become a true challenge when given the task to be recreated. Luckily, BOBBY BRIX has the experience to make the complex design into a polished micro-scaled creation that sits firmly on any desk or shelf as a unique display piece of the unsual bridge.

The Slovak Radio Building built alongside it was also quite the challenge. Instead of building the model from bottom to top, you're actually also building an inverted pyramid! The instructions provided show that while you do start building the pyramid just like a regular one, at some point you will be asked to flip it over and it attach it firmly to its base. A clever solution for a micro-scaled problem!
