The most technologically advanced attack submarine ever built! The USS Virginia was the first submarine designed entirely with computerised software, the first without a traditional optical periscope, and the lead ship of a class planned to eventually number 66 boats that will serve as the backbone of US undersea warfare well into the 2070s.

Laid down at General Dynamics Electric Boat in 1999 and powered by an S9G nuclear reactor that requires no refuelling for the life of the ship, she carries Tomahawk cruise missiles, Mark 48 ADCAP torpedoes, and a pump-jet propulsor in place of a conventional propeller for reduced acoustic signature. 

This 391-part LEGO MOC recreates her at 1:260 scale with side fins, pump-jet propulsion, a detailed conning tower, and a streamlined and smooth brick-built hull.
