The lead ship of her class and the flagship of the Imperial Japanese Navy for much of World War II. The IJN Nagato was commissioned in 1920 as one of the most powerful battleships in the world, armed with eight 41cm guns and capable of 26 knots!
She served as Admiral Yamamoto's flagship during the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and fought through the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, one of the largest naval battles in history. One of only two Japanese battleships to survive the war, she met her end not in combat but as a target vessel in the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946, sinking four days after the underwater Baker shot.
This free 93-part mini-scale LEGO MOC joins the BOBBY BRIX 2017 and 2018 battleship and destroyer series at matching scale.
