The world's first operational fifth-generation stealth fighter and still widely regarded as the most capable air superiority aircraft ever built... The F-22 Raptor made its first flight in September 1997 and entered USAF service in December 2005 after beating the competing YF-23 in the Advanced Tactical Fighter programme.

With supercruise capability allowing sustained supersonic flight without afterburners, thrust-vectoring engines, and a radar cross-section the size of a marble, only 187 production aircraft were ever built and the US Congress prohibited its export to any foreign nation.

Its first air-to-air engagement came in February 2023 when a Raptor downed a Chinese surveillance balloon off the coast of North Carolina.

This free 135-part mini-scale LEGO MOC recreates it in dark grey and light grey camouflage without landing gear at the same display scale as the BOBBY BRIX F-14 and F-15 MOCs.
