The U-995 was laid down in 1943, commissioned in 1944, and served with the Kriegsmarine during the Battle of the Atlantic before being handed to the Royal Norwegian Navy postwar, where it sailed as Kaura until 1965. Since 1971 it has been preserved as a museum ship at the Laboe Naval Memorial near Kiel, one of the last physical witnesses to the submarine campaign that came closest to severing Britain's Atlantic supply lines.

This 168-part LEGO MOC joins the BOBBY BRIX SubMayRine 2025 display stand mini-series at 1:260 scale, matching the M-200 Myest and the rest of the collection.
