LEGO Seawise Giant ULCC Ship MOC - PDF Building Instructions

This ship was known by many names including the Oppama, Happy Giant, Jahre Viking, Knock Nevis and Mont. But it's most known to be called as the Seawise Giant and there's a big reason why. This is a miniaturized design of the ship in 1:2000 scale.

HISTORY

The Seawise Giant, also known as the Knock Nevis, holds the title of the largest ship ever built in human history. This Ultra Large Crude Carrier (ULCC) spanned an astonishing 1,504 feet (458.45 meters) in length and was capable of carrying over 564,000 tons of crude oil.

It was originally constructed in 1979, and operated under various names throughout her lifetime, serving as an essential part of the global oil transport network until her retirement in 2009.

However her size caused many complications during her service, the Seawise Giant could not navigate through many of the world’s key maritime routes, including the Suez and Panama Canals! She was sold to ship breakers and scrapped in 2010.
