The sister ship of HMS Nelson and the only capital ship of World War II confirmed to have torpedoed another battleship, HMS Rodney delivered one of the most decisive broadsides in naval history on May 27, 1941, closing to under three miles to pummel the already-crippled Bismarck with her 16-inch guns at point-blank range until the German flagship was unsalvageable.
Commissioned in 1928 with the same treaty-dictated all-forward gun layout as Nelson, she spent the war moving from crisis to crisis across the Atlantic and Mediterranean, covering Malta convoys and invasion beaches in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and Normandy, never receiving the refit she needed before being retired and scrapped in 1948.
This LEGO MOC recreates her at 1:1000 scale with rotating and individually poseable turrets, a hidden interior behind the hull, and a display stand, completing the Nelson-class pair alongside the HMS Nelson MOC.
