Built in 1933 in Turku by a German front company circumventing the Treaty of Versailles, the Vesikko was secretly the prototype for the entire German Type II U-boat programme. Six virtually identical Type IIA boats followed her, then 44 more Type IIB, IIC, and IID submarines that formed the backbone of Germany's coastal U-boat fleet in World War II.

Finland purchased her in 1936 and she patrolled the Gulf of Finland through the Winter War and Continuation War before being retired and preserved at the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress near Helsinki, the only Finnish submarine still in existence.

This free 26-part micro-scale LEGO MOC recreates her at approximately 1:500 scale, the first model of the BOBBY BRIX SubMayRine 2025 series.
