The largest battleship ever built by a European power and the ship Winston Churchill called his single greatest naval priority. The Tirpitz spent most of World War II anchored in Norwegian fjords doing nothing. And yet, she forced the Allies to divert battleships, carriers, and cruisers away from every other theatre just to contain the threat she represented.
Launched in 1941 as the slightly heavier sister ship of the Bismarck, she survived British "midget" submarines planting charges under her hull in September 1943, six bombing raids between April and October 1944, and countless other attempts before 31 Lancaster bombers from 617 and IX Squadrons finally capsized her near Tromsø with Tallboy bombs on November 12, 1944, trapping hundreds of her crew inside.
This LEGO MOC recreates her at 1:1000 scale, completing the Bismarck-class alongside the BOBBY BRIX Bismarck MOC.
