Build a 1:1100 scaled LEGO recreation of the Asama Maru, a Japanese ocean liner from the 20th century. Easy to assemble while featuring plenty of details!

HISTORY

Asama Maru was a Japanese ocean liner operated by the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) that entered service in 1929. Built by the Mitsubishi Shipbuilding & Engineering Company in Nagasaki, the ship measured approximately 167 meters in length. She was designed for trans-Pacific passenger service between Japan and the United States, offering luxury accommodations and modern amenities for its time, including air conditioning and spacious lounges.

With the outbreak of World War II, Asama Maru was requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy and used as a transport and hospital ship. In 1944, she was torpedoed and sunk by the US submarine USS Atule off the coast of the Philippines in the South China Sea. Over 2,000 people were onboard at the time, and many lives were lost.
